When Dutch flower wholesaler Joost Vianen was looking for a florist to design his wedding flowers he literally had the pick of the bunch. Not only in best quality Dutch flowers, but a host of talented florists to call upon as well.

So it was a huge honour when he called Birmingham florist Joy Gill and partner Steve Hallard, owners of the Flower Centre in Northfield and asked them to fly out to Holland to design and create the flowers for his big day.

‘I was immensely flattered when Joost rang’ said Joy, ‘his company, C.J. Vianen deliver to florists all over the country, including London, so there was no shortage of people he could have asked. We spent four days in Holland working with the most beautiful flowers and on Saturday we were also guests at the wedding.

‘We have been customers of Vianen’s for five years, and have always had wonderful flowers and excellent service from them, so the chance to reciprocate by creating Joost and his fiancée Carin’s flowers for their big day was an opportunity we just couldn’t refuse’.
